Although the explosive device did not detonate, the event raised serious concerns about potential attacks using UAVs. The Federal Prosecutor's Office is actively investigating the matter.
In response to these evolving threats, Germany’s Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt announced the establishment of a new technological center at the German Aerospace Center's (DLR) test airfield in Saxony-Anhalt. This facility will focus on research, development, and testing of counter-UAV technologies, reflecting a strategic pivot towards enhancing defensive capabilities against drone incursions.
