Over 20 Countries Condemn Iran for Coordinated Attacks on Their Territories
Twenty-two nations, including the US and European states, demand Tehran halt attacks targeting Jewish communities and Iranian dissidents abroad.

Twenty-two countries, led by the United States and a broad coalition of European states, have officially accused Iran of orchestrating attacks on their sovereign territories. The coordinated denunciation highlights escalating concerns over Tehran's use of proxy groups to conduct operations against dissidents and minority communities abroad.
Multinational Rebuke of Iran’s Covert Operations
On June 11, a joint statement was released condemning Iran's covert activities, declaring that attempts to "kill, abduct, persecute, intimidate or otherwise attack individuals within our borders violate national sovereignty and international norms." The statement demands an immediate cessation of all such operations by Iran.
The countries issuing the statement include Germany, Albania, Australia, Belgium, the United Kingdom, Bulgaria, Canada, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, France, Finland, Ireland, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, New Zealand, North Macedonia, Norway, Portugal, Sweden, and the United States.
Focus on IRGC and Proxy Groups
The intelligence services of these nations attribute the attacks to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and its overseas unit, the Quds Force. These entities are accused of engaging in "deadly conspiracies and harmful activities" aimed at Iranian dissidents, journalists, and Jewish communities.
Specifically, the statement points to a campaign across Europe involving the Iranian-linked group Harakat Ashab al-Yamin al-Islamia (Islamic Movement of the Right-Handed Allies). This group has claimed responsibility for attacks on Jewish communities and arson attacks on synagogues in the United Kingdom, Belgium, and the Netherlands.
"These actions undermine national sovereignty and international norms, and must cease immediately." – Joint statement by 22 countries
Implications for International Security and Corporate Strategy
For multinational corporations and investors operating in these regions, the escalating tensions pose significant geopolitical risks. Governments may increase counterterrorism measures, potentially disrupting supply chains and impacting regional business environments. Additionally, companies with ties to or investments in Iran could face heightened scrutiny, sanctions, or reputational risks.
Management teams and corporate strategists must monitor evolving diplomatic relations and security developments closely. The transnational nature of these attacks reflects a broader pattern of Iran extending its influence through proxies, complicating the competitive landscape for firms operating across Europe and North America.
Strategic Response and Risk Mitigation
Businesses should consider enhancing their geopolitical risk assessments, including potential impacts on personnel and assets related to the identified targeted communities. Engagement with local authorities and adherence to international compliance standards will be critical to navigating the complex environment shaped by these developments.
As the international community coalesces to counter Iran's extraterritorial operations, the corporate sector must adapt to the challenges posed by this heightened security landscape.
